Alvernia’s Office of Career Development provides students and alumni with the tools and techniques to help them be successful in their lifelong career path. As alumni, you can access all the resources Career Development Office has to offer, free of charge.  If you need assistance in your job search, how to ace an interview, or whether to contemplate a career change or consider graduate school, the Career Development staff can lend you a hand.


The Career Development Office has introduced a new initiative to assist our students with their career exploration. Take A Golden Wolf to Work is an opportunity for students to shadow career professionals and learn about a specific profession, the requirements of the position and expectations. Host dates will be May 14-18, 2018. If you are interested in being a job shadow host, please complete the attached application.

Career Advice

Introducing a new career service that alumni and parents can access at their convenience. The Alumni Career Webinar Series covers topics that include job search tips, social media strategies, preparing for retirement, and many more. The site offers a live webinar every week plus over 50 archived webinars for you to view at your own convenience. Build a career strategy and get the advice you need for FREE!

Job Search

The College Central Network is an on-line, job and internship database available to alumni 24/7. In addition to full-time positions, the site also provides over 300 career articles and 60+ podcasts to support you with your career-related needs.

MyPLan is a career assessment tool available at no cost to Alvernia alumni. Contact our office at or 610-790-2878 for the License Code.


Networking is one of the most important -- if not the most important -- activities that job-seekers need to master to be truly successful in your job-search. Because the vast majority of job openings are never advertised, job-seekers need to have a network of contacts -- a career network -- that can provide support, information, and job leads. The Career Development staff is ready to assist you in building your network through LinkedIn and alumni events.

Interview Preparation

First impressions – you’ve got 30 seconds to make the right one. The Office of Career Development provides an Interview Guide with helpful tips on types of interviews, questions to consider, and post-interview etiquette. You can also contact the office at 610-790-2878 to schedule an appointment to participate in a mock interview.

Résumé and Cover Letter Review

An updated résumé and cover letter are absolutely critical in landing that interview The Career Development staff is available to assist you with revisions and suggestions to your current résumé and cover letter. In person appointments are preferred, but email and phone consultations are available for alumni who cannot travel to campus.
