Founded in 1994 with the help of the Wyomissing Foundation, the Community Foundation allows individuals to establish charitable funds for select causes and, in fact, manages hundreds of charitable funds, each created in support of causes the donor cared about.

It is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors who set the strategic goals of the organization and facilitate progress toward these goals by recognizing opportunities to improve the quality of life in Berks County and assist in identifying ways the philanthropic sector can contribute.
